Work out your issues in Slack
Switching out of Slack to do a basic thing — like manage our GitHub Issues — was driving us crazy. So we made Bugbot! Just install it once for your Slack team, and everyone on it can access and create new issues from their GitHub accounts. Just like that.
Getting Started
Step 1 - Add to Slack
Okay, this part is easy! Just hit the Add to Slack button and walk through Slack’s steps for installation.
Step 2 - Tell Your Team
Once you’ve got Bugbot integrated with Slack, let your team know! (We recommend sending an alert with the @channel command in an announcements room, if you have one.)
Step 3 - Authenticate with GitHub
Anyone who wants to use Bugbot will need to register their GitHub account, which is super easy. Just run /bugbot to get authenticated.
Step 4 - Set your repo
Bugbot is super flexible, so everyone can be reading and writing to different GitHub repos. Run /bugbot repos to find the repo you want to use, then run /bugbot repo org/reponame to set it.
Then - Create Github Issues in Slack!
Gone are the days of leaving Slack to create a new GitHub Issue. Just run /bugbot add [your issue name] to create a new issue!
And then - Keep an eye on your Issues
Your Github Issues are now available in Slack, too. Run /bugbot issues to see all the latest.
